Our promise is simple: We only collect the data absolutely necessary to run our service and improve our AI. We never sell your personal information or share it with recruiters/advertisers.
1. What We Collect and Why
We collect two main types of data to provide and improve your profile analysis:
- Account Info: Your **name, email, and encrypted password** to manage your account and send you results. Payment information is handled securely by **Paystack** and never stored on our servers.
- Profile Data: The **text and screenshots** from your Upwork or LinkedIn profile. This data is necessary to feed into our AI (OpenAI/Anthropic) to generate your recommendations. **Screenshots are automatically deleted after 30 days.**
- Usage Data: Non-identifying information like **features used** and **error logs** helps us fix bugs and make the extension better.
2. How We Use Your Data (The Core Service)
Your data is used strictly for the following purposes:
- To **provide the AI analysis** and generate your profile recommendations.
- To **process payments** and manage your credit balance.
- To **communicate** with you about your account status and support requests.
- To **debug** technical issues and improve the AI's accuracy.
3. Who We Share Data With
We use trusted third parties to run the service, but we ensure they are bound by strict data protection agreements.
- **AI Partners (OpenAI/Anthropic):** We share your profile text/screenshots with them *only* when you click "Analyze" to generate your report.
- **Payment Processor (Paystack):** Handles your payment information securely.
- **Analytics (Google Analytics):** Helps us understand usage patterns with **anonymized data**.
We **DO NOT** sell your personal data, share it with advertisers, or provide your data to Upwork or LinkedIn.
4. Your Control and Rights
You are in control of your data and have the right to access, correct, or delete it at any time.
- Data Access/Deletion: You can log into your dashboard to **request a data export** or **delete your account**.
- **Opt-Out:** You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the email, and you can disable non-essential cookies via your browser settings.
- Data Location: Your data is securely stored on servers located in the **United States**. By using our service, you consent to this transfer.
5. Chrome Extension Permissions
The extension requires the following access to function:
- **ActiveTab/Host Permissions (upwork.com, linkedin.com):** This only allows the extension to access the visible content of the profile page **when you click the "Analyze" button** to read and scan the profile.
- **Storage:** To safely store your login token and preferences within your browser.
